The Baltimore chapter of So What Else Baltimore was founded in 2015 and has since been providing emergency hunger relief, volunteer opportunities, and holistic youth development programming at a number of locations all across Baltimore City.

From our pop-up food giveaways to our after-school classes, to our volunteer community garden initiatives, So What Else Baltimore has been an agent for change all across Baltimore City and beyond.

Our COVID-19 response and impact:

When the pandemic began in 2020, we here at So What Else Baltimore rose to the challenge and expanded our Emergency Hunger Relief Program in order to provide for the many families across Baltimore that suddenly found themselves experiencing unemployment and hunger. Since then, we’ve continually expanded our emergency relief initiatives and today our team distributes approximately 27,000 meals to 54,000 individuals at 38 different locations per week, in addition to the many personal protective equipments, educational materials, and baby supplies we’ve been able to give out.

Our food access model utilizes recovered food to offer at neighborhood pop-up pantries, emergency home deliveries, and bulk organizational pickups in order to combat the heightened food insecurity caused by Covid-19.
