Te'Renee' Gilkes

Renee’ graduated from West Virginia University's Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Program with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and a minor in Forensic Investigative Science. Before applying to serve as an AmeriCorps member for So What Else, Renee’ worked at the Mountaineer Boys & Girls Club in Morgantown, West Virginia as a mentor and program staff member for two years. Renee’ worked worked with all age groups but her focus and passion was in the teen program. 

As the Volunteer Coordinator for So What Else, Renee’ hopes to be able to provide more ongoing opportunities for youth to be able to get engaged with their communities, believing that if they are occupied doing positive things, that will help inspire them to be the best they can be in life.
