our impact

Thanks to our funders So What Else is able to serve over 3,000 youth from nearly 50 communities, yearly, located throughout Montgomery County, Pg County, Washington DC and Baltimore City.

There are so many staff, there are so many different activities, the kids are getting a lot of individual attention, and I find that they are more interested and ready to come to the center each day.
— Seble, Community Partner
Thank you SO much for your INCREDIBLE support of our Day of Service with the McLean School!
The students and staff were so impressed by your enthusiastic facilitation of the lessons. The kids seemed to learn a lot and enjoy serving. I can’t imagine doing any major event without So What Else involved!
— Cristin Cane, Founder and CEO of Charity Connect
So What Else helped us mature a little more and helped us learn how to take care of our community... they actually understand you. Also they like to have fun, thats the most important thing - that they like to have fun.
— Steve, 7th Grade

Studies show volunteering is linked to better physical, mental and emotional health. By promoting, facilitating and linking youth and community members to volunteer opportunities we are creating an ongoing web of kindness with far and wide reaching impacts.

So What Else programming, during after school hours and spring and summer break, fill crucial gaps for families and communities, providing more creative and educational opportunities, support and mentorship for youth, particularly in underserved populations.

Our programs provide a safe and out of the box learning experience for youth to explore their natural talents, as well as gain exposure to new skills and interests. We aim to build pathways and avenues of support for youth to reach their greatest potentials.

Through strong partnerships we are able to connect and build community between youth, parents, community members, volunteers and So What Else staff. We use our pillar of community service to bring people together for the greater good.
