January 30: Family Game Night

Last week, So What Else hosted a family game night at Capitol Quarters Community Center in Southeast, DC. We had over 20 parents and children enjoy community time. Our parent bingo was a big hit! We had a lot of fun doing different activities with the kids as well as the parents. Our fun activities were paired with dinner and some healthy snacks.

We also made friendship bracelets and necklaces, which is always a favorite craft activity for kids. A little creativity mixed with kindness can always brighten someone's day. To add to the fun, one of our providers, Mr. Dan played chess with the kids. Not only did we have chess games, we also had other board games available for those who wanted to do something different. Our goal was for everybody to have fun and make it a place that is the exact definition of a community.

We believe that by providing an opportunity for everyone to get together and share good times together, we are fulfilling our vision as an organization to make a lasting impact on the lives of our youth and their families. Family game night is designed to gather families together for a night of fun and laughter. Of course, we do so by bringing in a positive mindset and the best kind of activities.
